Your Cruise
After viewing the New Zealand Fur Seals at Adele Island, disembark at Anchorage and enjoy the beach or the 1.5 hour Pitt Head loop track to Te Pukatea Bay.
The Seals
On this adventure you will visit the famous Split Apple Rock and a New Zealand Fur Seal colony where you’ll get a chance to view the ‘kekeno’ (Maori name for fur seals) in their natural habitat. At some periods of the year you’ll see the baby seal pups playing alongside our vessels.
Our skippers and guides will teach you some wonderful history of the Abel Tasman National Park along the way and answer any questions you may have. We’re a fun bunch and love making sure you get the best from you time with us!
Sea kayaking
This tour covers the area between Kaiteriteri to the south and Split Apple Rock in the north. It is a relatively small area with lots of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. This makes it an ideal tour for the first timer. The trip starts with a safety briefing, with full instruction to make kayaking as simple as possible – even for first timers.
Tides play a big part in the tour itinerary. As these change with each day then so does our tour. After a break for swimming, relaxing or exploring the beach we set off for Ngaio Island on the homeward journey.
Please note: This itinerary is an outline only. Your guide may decide to vary this program based on their judgement of weather and sea conditions and client ability/fitness levels. This tour may also be reversed doing the cruise in the morning and kayaking in the afternoon.
