Self Guided Sea Kayak Options

Kayak the beautiful coastline to world famous Split Apple Rock. Leaving from our Kaiteriteri Beach Base, experience the beaches and bays as far north as Tokongawha and the iconic Split Apple Rock.

You will pass Breaker Bay, Honeymoon Bay and Ngaio Island. This is a generally sheltered stretch of water with afternoon sea breezes on most sunny days.

Keep an eye out for friendly locals such as Little Blue Penguins (Korora) and Cormorants (Kawau).

Split Apple Rock can be found 2.5kms to the north or about one hours paddling time.

Family Classic - Sit-on top kayaks

We also offer sit on top kayaks which can take one or two people. These are different from the conventional double we use for kayaking as the tops are open and safer for children. Paddle around the bay and you may see blue penguins, shags and the odd stingray. Great way for children to experience the sea and build confidence.
