Trip Itinerary
Like the name suggests, this trip has all the trimmings. A one-way tour, exploring the coast between Bark Bay in the north to Kaiteriteri to the south. We embark on the 9am Aqua Taxi for a scenic ride up to Bark Bay. Some of the many highlights include exploring lagoons, paddling with the seals at Pinnacle Island, Te Pukatea Bay, the Mad Mile and stopping on Fisherman’s or Adele Island. We then check out Split Apple Rock on the last run home. Something else that makes this tour special is that we paddle in the same direction as the predominant wind; the sea breeze. It makes for relaxed paddling and great sailing opportunities when the weather permits.
Please note: This itinerary is an outline only. Your guide may decide to vary this program based on their judgement of weather and sea conditions and client ability/fitness levels. In winter this trip runs in reverse and from our Marahau base and does not go past Split Apple Rock.
Flora and Fauna
Increased time on the water improves the chance of random encounters with sea-life. Experience shows we are more likely to sight dolphins on this tour than any other. Seals live at the back of Adele Island for 8 months of the year (March – October). We also pass a couple of shag colonies along the way.
Places such as Stillwell Bay are guide-favourites to be shared with you, as we paddle around distinctive caves and arches, surrounded by bright green tree-ferns. Adele Island is now part of a stoat-trapping program to help revive native bird populations. The views from this island track aren’t too bad either!

What You Need to Bring
Hat, sunscreen, insect repellant, warm top (wool or fleece), T-shirt, shorts, swimsuit, wind jacket, camera, change of clothes and water, additional snack food (for those of you that get hungry through the day).
What We Supply
We supply: top quality kayak, life jackets, paddles, spray skirts, dry bags for cameras, detailed maps, safety briefing and guide.
We also supply hot chocolate, fresh ground coffee, tea and biscuits and lunch.
